We added capacity to a customer’s Pathfinder cook set pouch
Our sewing workshop recently completed a set of side pouches for a customer’s original Pathfinder cook set pouch. The Pathfinder school is owned by none other than Dave Canterbury. Here is his Youtube channel and you can order this pouch on his website here. Most Malaysians would probably know Dave when he appeared side by side with Cody Lundin in the first season of Dual Survivor (aired on Astro). On the The Pathfinder’s website, they claim that each product has been examined by Dave and his team of instructors before they go for sale. Its an awesome bit of kit and we are happy to custom fit them with side pouches for our customer, just the way he likes them.
Having molle webbing on any bag or pouch is probably the smartest thing to do by far. It allows for additional pouches or panels to be added or it can also be used to attached the item, in this case the pouch itself to another piece of kit that has molle webbing. In this case, our customer wanted side pouches that he can attach to the sides. We built the side pouches which are able to attach itself to the molle.

Without the molle, the only method would be to sew the additional pouches directly to the main pouch. This is doable but would mean the side pouches are permanent. Having the ability to attach and remove means it is more adaptable and practical.

The two side pouches
While the two side pouches are rather similar in terms of sizes, they both have different closure systems. One has a draw-cord closure while the other uses velcro strap, a bit similar to what is sued on a magazine dump pouch.

The new additions to the Pathfinder cook set pouch means it can carry more then just a billy and a mug. Items like a survival poncho, knife and fire making kit, food, paracord line and even some electronics like GPS and camera can fit into the entire setup, making it a more effective bug out bag or even a survival kit.
