As a Malaysian bag maker, we also specialize in doing repairs and modifications. A customer recently approached us with his daily tote bag for repairs but after having a browse at some of our existing samples and material, he decided instead to upgrade his daily tote into a bag that will never fail him again. We sat through some ideas, threw in some quality military spec materials and made this daily tote bag modification into a beast!
This tote bag has served its owner for many years and it is only natural that some repairs are necessary. Edges are starting to fray and at some parts, the thread are starting to undo itself. We stripped the entire bag to make sure we did not miss any important repairs. Beyond repair, the customer decided he wanted an internal lining that is made of 1000D cordura with some molle options and a few custom made pouch inserts with velcro to go with.
We got permission from the owner to share some pictures of his daily tote bag modification but he requested that we do not include pictures of the smaller pouches made to fit the internal sections of the bag. It took us a bit of time to create the pouches as they were meant to fit specific items the owner carry on a daily basis. We changed all the fraying thread, replace the zippers where necessary and created an internal lining that we think is awesome.
This is probably one of the fine examples of a daily EDC (in this case daily tote bag) that is concealable…something that may interest preppers. A daily tote bag that:
- does not reveal yourself as a prepper (the outside looks like any other tote bag). Read this article to understand why.
- has an internal that is made of super tough military spec materials
- has custom made pouches built that can be ‘tear away’ (velcro) fast if necessary
- has internal molle options for future attachments
- has organizational capability to help you be more organized
We thoroughly enjoyed this daily tote bag modification job. Our customer is happy with our work and has placed an order for an additional sleeve for his other ‘concealed’ EDC (this we are not able to share pictures with).
